Mac-Bo is earth-sensitive and subscribes to eco-friendly practices, renewable products and energy conservation through the use of exceptional design and construction. A Mac-Bo home remodel is built to last with the care and planning we’d want put into our own homes.
Why the funny name?
Mac-Bo was formed by Ed Hesse in October 2004. Originally Licensed as MacArthur Booth Constructors. Our vendors and subcontractors quickly began calling us Mac-Bo and it stuck, so we are now licensed as Mac-Bo, LLC. Mac-Bo has evolved into an experienced award winning General Contracting Firm in five years. We continue to grow with the industry and are on the forefront of innovation within design and building practices.
The Mac-Bo Sweet Spot
We specialize in mid-century remodels. To be perfectly honest, we believe that houses built between 1945 and 1965 are the best candidates for significant remodel that fits today’s lifestyle. It’s not that we don’t work on houses built before or after those dates, but we have a particular affection for the ranch.
The Mac-Bo Team: who are we really?
form and function
Ed Hesse has been building and remodeling homes for more than three decades following his education from Rochester Institute of Technology. Ed heads the team’s technical and engineering side—you might say he’s the left-brained side of Mac-Bo.
Kirk Linder was educated at the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Following a long career in Landscape Architecture, Kirk has been building for the past six years and has an eye for form, balance, aesthetic concerns and “the big picture.”
Andrew’s background includes a BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and extensive coursework in architecture from Pratt Institute in New York City. He has worked in architecture, interiors, and furniture design as well as commercial contract furnishings sales for Herman Miller. Last year, he earned his certification as a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA).
